Steadily building an army and gaining reputation with lords is great, but once you have a solid battalion and good standing with your kingdom, it kinda gets a bit dull as you wait for something to happen. Simply put, it's a game where your rise from the bottom is much more fun than when you're prospering. My biggest issue with M&B is that I always hit a wall at a certain point. Your mouse movements correspond with the direction you swing your weapon and it's quite satisfying, especially given the age of the game. The combat itself is also pretty unique and engaging.
